www.summa.com and www.summa.eu are managed by NV SUMMA. This privacy statement only applies to persons who are located in the European Union.

All personal data that we obtain as a result of our interactions with you as a visitor to our website, as a (potential) customer, as a (potential) supplier or as a job applicant will be collected and processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, in particular, the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 ("GDPR").

In this Privacy Statement, we explain what information we collect about you, what the information is used for and to whom the information is passed on. You will also find here what rights you have and how you can exercise them.

This statement covers both online and offline data collection.

Summa processes your personal data for different purposes. Depending on how and why you communicate with us. However, Summa strives to collect only the information necessary to achieve the desired purpose.

Contact forms website
When you contact us via a form on our website, we process your personal data. This enables us to contact you. In this case, we will always ask for your name and contact details.
The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest, in particular the correct response to your request.

Product registration
Our website allows you to register your product. In this case, we always ask for the name and contact details of a customer contact person.
The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest, in particular the efficient contacting of our customers.

Subscribe to the newsletter
If you would like to be kept informed about our activities and products, you can subscribe to our newsletter. For this purpose, we ask for your email address. By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to the sending of our newsletter to the address you have provided. You can withdraw this permission at any time by unsubscribing via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.

Marketing
Summa uses Hubspot marketing automation. This involves creating a profile of the website visitor if he or she shares his or her personal data via the contact form or the newsletter registration link on our website. In this case, a distinction is always made between anonymous visitors and identified visitors. Your data will only be stored as such if you have indicated that you wish to continue as an identified visitor. When you fill in our contact form, we ask for your name, first name, organisation, email address as well as the products you are interested in.

When you visit our website as an identified visitor, we keep track of the pages you visit and the products you are interested in. This allows us to get an idea of your area of interest and to send you personalised newsletters that match your interests.

This profile will only be used to improve our services and only if you agree to place marketing cookies. For more information about cookies, see further down the page.

Customer reviews
We may post customer reviews and testimonials on our website. However, we always ask for separate permission before this information is shared on our website.

Customer management
If you act as a customer contact person, we will keep your contact details on file so that we can contact you directly. This includes your name, telephone number and email address.
The processing of your personal data, in this case, is based on our legitimate interest, in particular the efficient contacting of our customers.

Supplier management
We process the personal data of our contact person at a supplier. Such processing is necessary for the execution of the agreement between you and Summa or is in our legitimate interest, i.e. to efficiently interact with our suppliers.

Applicants
When you apply to Summa, we process your personal data during the recruitment process. Such processing is based on our legitimate interest to carefully select a suitable candidate.

3. Recipients of your personal data

For the purposes set out above, we may share your personal data with third parties.

Our IT, cloud and software providers may also have access to your personal data for storage, maintenance or support purposes. Such service providers are in no way permitted to use your personal data for their own purposes and are always bound by a duty of confidentiality.

Your personal data may be shared in the context of a business transaction, such as during the sale of (part of) the company or a reorganisation, merger, joint venture or other disposition of the company, its assets or shares.

Your personal data will under no circumstances be shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Retention Period

Your personal data will only be kept for as long as is necessary for its purpose. The retention period varies and depends on the sensitivity and nature of the data in question.

If we no longer need your personal data for the purpose described above, your data will be deleted or anonymised.

Summa undertakes to the best of its ability to take all reasonable measures to protect your personal data against misuse, loss and unauthorised access. These measures are always based on the current state of the art. For example, only authorised personnel will have access to your personal data.

7. Your rights

You have various rights concerning the personal data we process about you. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details set out in section 8. Within the framework of our identification obligation, we may request you to provide us with a copy of your identity card.

  1. Right of access and correction
    If you wish to know which of your personal data Summa processes and for what purposes, please contact us. You may also request that any incorrect personal data be corrected or that your data be amended.
  1. Right of erasure and restriction
    You have the right to request us to delete your personal data. It may be that certain data will be kept by Summa after your request for deletion. For instance, because we have a legal obligation to keep the data for a certain period of time. If you have legitimate reasons to do so, you may request us to restrict the processing of your personal data. For example, because you dispute the accuracy of your personal data.

  2. Right of objection
    If the processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest or is part of the fulfilment of a task of general interest or public authority, you can object to the processing of your personal data in a substantiated manner.

  3. Right to data portability
    If we process your personal data on the basis of your consent or as part of the performance of the contract between you and us, you may request that we provide the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable form or transfer it to another data controller, provided that the processing is carried out by automated means.

    If Summa's processing of your personal data is based on your (explicit) consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of your consent, however, does not affect the lawfulness of the processing prior to the withdrawal.

  5. Right to lodge a complaint
    If you believe that Summa is unlawfully processing your personal data and if you feel that you are not getting a fair hearing, you always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
