Summa America is excited for this year’s edition of the PRINTING United show in Dallas, Oct. 23 - 25, 2019. For the first time, Summa (Booth 8841) presents a range of cutting solutions for such a wide variety of applications and industries. From cutting stickers to product displays, advertising signs, flags or large-format soft signage, companies as sign shops, car wrappers, large print and sign companies and textile suppliers will benefit from Summa’s range. The cutting solutions can be divided into three product types; roll-to-roll cutters, flatbed cutters and laser cutting solutions, all of which will be demonstrated during the show.
Bigger. Better. Bolder. – is this year’s slogan at PRINTING United. Summa reflects this by demonstrating its largest laser cutter, the L3214, winner of the SGIA 2019 Product of the Year in its category. Watch the teaser video of the L3214 here. The L3214 laser cutter covers an impressive 3.2 m (10’ 5”) width and can be considered a true game-changer in the processing of textiles.
With the L3214 laser cutter, Summa eliminates companies’ struggle with slow conventional knife cutting machines in soft signage applications. Thanks to advanced camera technology and on-the-fly cutting, this laser cutter multiplies the productivity of any other cutting solution in the market.
The high-end camera system continuously scans the material design and is able to automatically convert it into a cutting vector. While the next part is being scanned in, the laser is cutting simultaneously. This on-the-fly cutting concept is making the L3214 a uniquely productive solution in the market. It saves the operator a considerable amount of valuable time without compromising an inch on quality.
Large-format flatbed cutters to complement printers with excellence
The finishing flatbeds from Summa are on the rise in America, while their quality, versatility and powerful technology are already being recognized by a growing number of customers worldwide.
This year, Summa accomplished its goal to improve the synergy with the large format digital printer market, by launching two large-format flatbeds matching the 3.2 m (10’ 5”) working width of printers perfectly. All existing tools and modules within the F Series gamut are designed to fit each size of the flatbed range, the new F3232 and F3220 sizes inclusive. In combination with Summa’s GoProduce software, the F Series ensures the highest versatility to process all kinds of material and offer numerous high-end solutions to the sign making, textile, and digital print industries.
Twin Workflow bridges the gap between flatbeds and roll cutters
The new Twin workflow is a smart piece of software that will make the work of many sign-making companies significantly easier. Summa’s flatbed series and roll cutter series both work with markers to perfectly align the material before cutting. Both have their own kind of markers that should be printed with the design on the material. The Twin Workflow enables users to use only one cutting file on both the flatbed cutter and on the roll cutter they have in production. The Twin workflow will be making its debut on the show.
Experience Summa’s most accurate True Tangential Technology
The S Class 2 vinyl and contour cutters are equipped with True Tangential Technology, which is a unique technique controlling the movement of the cutting tool. The technology especially shows a difference in detailed (corner) jobs, in thicker and more rigid substrates. Worldwide, this technology is praised to be the most powerful cutting technology in the market, ensuring a flawless finish of any cutting job.
