Summa launches Pneumatic Oscillating Tool for the Flatbed Series

Summa Press Release / For immediate release 29/04/2013

The pneumatic oscillating tool (POT), powered by compressed air, moves the knife up and down over a stroke of 8mm* with a frequency of maximum 150Hz*. Material up to 25mm thick can be cut. The robust construction of the tool makes it suitable to cut thick and tough boards like inverted corrugated board, corrugated cardboard and foam boards. Also some soft foams and rubbers can be cut with the tool.

The new POT tool will be launched on Sign&Digital UK in Birmingham. Summa plans to ship the first units by June 2013.

Thanks to this new tool functionalities of Summa’s flatbed, the F1612, are even more extensive than they already were before. After the launch of the router module last year - which focused primarily on hard and solid board material – also processing lighter board material has become a child’s play now with the POT. Especially the POP/POS advertising market discovers the endless possibilities of light board material in printed constructions. Also the design and furniture market uses inverted corrugated boards increasingly in many of their applications. Together with the Vcut tools, the pneumatic oscillating tool is most suitable to bring these applications to a successful end product.
